OpTrack: privacy, terms and disclaimer

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Not financial advice

OpTrack is a record-keeping tool. Nothing in it is financial, investment, tax or legal advice.

It shows you numbers worked out from the trades you enter. It does not tell you what to buy or sell, and nothing in it is a recommendation. Prices, option values and Greeks come from delayed third-party feeds and may be wrong, late or missing. Figures such as profit, return and break-even are worked out automatically and may contain mistakes.

Options trading is risky and you can lose more than you put in. Always check figures against your broker's statements. Your broker's records are the official ones. If you need advice, speak to a qualified, FCA-authorised adviser.

Privacy policy

Who we are

OpTrack is made and run by Marc Duff, an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. Marc is the "data controller" for your information under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Contact: see the app's Settings.

What we collect

We don't ask for, and you shouldn't enter, your broker login or bank details.

Why we use it

Only to run the app for you: sign you in, store your data and show your numbers. Legal basis: providing the service you asked for (contract), and our legitimate interest in keeping it secure.

Where it is stored

Your account and data are stored with Google Firebase (Google Cloud), which may process data outside the UK under Google's standard data-protection terms. The website is hosted by Netlify. Live prices come from market-data providers (such as Finnhub, Cboe and Yahoo). They only see the ticker symbols, never your account.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers or use it for advertising. We don't look at your trades except when you ask for help, or when we must to fix a fault.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your data is deleted straight away from the live database. Backups held by our providers expire on their normal schedules.

Your rights

You can see, correct, download or delete your data at any time:

You can also contact us to use any of your other rights. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies and storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember your settings (such as light/dark mode) and to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. If the change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app.

Terms of use

  1. Agreement. By creating an account or using OpTrack, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
  2. What it is. A tool for recording and reviewing your own options trades. It is not a broker and does not place trades. It is not financial advice (see above).
  3. Your account. You must be 18 or over. Keep your login safe; you're responsible for activity on your account. Only enter data you have the right to use.
  4. Fair use. Don't misuse the service: no attempts to access other people's data, overload or attack the service, scrape our price feeds or resell access.
  5. Accuracy. We try hard to get the numbers right, but the service is provided "as is", without guarantees that it will be accurate, complete or always available. Always check against your broker.
  6. Liability. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for trading or investment losses, or for any indirect loss, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
  7. Paid features. If paid plans are introduced, their price and terms will be shown clearly before you pay.
  8. Ending. You can stop at any time and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. We may change or close the service, and if we close it we'll give reasonable notice so you can export your data.
  9. Changes. We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
  10. Law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also use your local courts.
